Gary Johnson Social Worker of the Month for March 2026

CONGRATULATIONS Gary Johnson!  It is our pleasure to recognize Gary Johnson, Transition Services and Support Case Manager with Greenville County DSS as Social Worker of the Month!

Gary shows up and supports his young adults in an exemplary way, according to coworkers. He consistently treats his clients with respect and dignity. He works together with them, hearing them and teaming with them to determine the supports and services needed for them to thrive.  During the Christmas season, Gary made sure all of his young people were sponsored for Christmas, including his youth who are aftercare only.

Gary has been described as always respecting the individuality of his youth and meets them where they are. Foster parents as well as his young people have come forward to say how much they enjoy working with Gary and say he makes receiving services and support seem easy! In addition, during his visits with clients, which have been described as meaningful, he frequently gives them gift cards so the youth can have a nice lunch or special coffee!

Gary, it is an honor to recognize you as Social Worker of the Month! Keep up the great work getting these amazing young people on the road to successful independence!
