Julie Gilbert January 2024

CONGRATULATIONS, Julie and Happy New Year! It is our pleasure to start the new year by recognizing Julie Gilbert, Human Services Coordinator for Horry County Foster Care as Social Worker of the Month. Thank you, Julie for your extraordinary service to children and families in Horry County!

Julie’s nomination came from a GAL, who had this to say, “Julie goes the extra mile in all that she does. She also goes above and beyond to share information and collaborate in the best interest of the child under her purview. She never leaves things to chance. If it lands in her lap, she pursues a solution that usually exceeds expectation. As a GAL working alongside Julie, I have the opportunity to see children light up when she walks in the room. Even when she is delivering difficult information she stays and supports each party involved in the situation. Working along-side her has grown my knowledge and heart. In her daily work she follows-through to ensure that the children and their families are always made aware of the case status and the action required to resolve issues at hand.”

Wow! Julie, thank you for putting the children you serve first and for being a strong advocate for them! We appreciate you!
