Scholarship Program
Sponsored by the South Carolina Foster Parent Association. Scholarships will be awarded each year at the SCFPA Annual Training Conference. Scholarship money may be used for any academic or training program that helps recipient meet his or her goals
Guidelines Governing the Awarding of Scholarships
- One or more scholarships will be awarded each year.
- Scholarship money may be used for any academic or training program that helps recipient meet his or her goals.
- Recipients will be named during the SCFPA Annual Training Conference.
Guidelines Governing Competition
- Applicant must be in foster care at the time of application.
- Applicant shall be a graduating high school senior.
- All applications must be sent to the Scholarship Committee on or before the announced deadline.
Applicants must submit the following:
- Completed SCFPA Scholarship Application.
- Three letters of recommendation which should testify to the applicant's character, leadership, and basis of need.
The letters should be from the following:
- One from a teacher or school official,
- One from someone who has known the applicant for at least six months
- One from applicant's foster parents
- Any additional information that might be pertinent to the committee may be added at applicant's discretion.
