Dawn Wood
April 2015

CONGRATULATIONS DAWN! It is our pleasure to recognize Dawn Wood, Caseworker for Cherokee County. Thank you, Dawn, for outstanding service to children and families!

“I would like to nominate Dawn Wood who is a caseworker for Cherokee County. She has been an absolute blessing to work with. It is very obvious she loves and cares for the children she works with including my daughter and her siblings. Dawn has not only been a blessing for my daughter, caring for her well-being above all and fighting for what she believes is best for her, but she has also been a blessing to me. She is in constant contact with me about visits, hearings, the status of the case, and always available for me to ask questions, voice my concerns or just to let me share the ‘proud momma’ moments as my daughter has grown these past 16 months. My daughter has been in my care since she was 2 days old and on April 29 we will have our final adoption hearing. I have to admit I was hesitant to foster and adopt through DSS because of the bad publicity the social services system typically gets. I want people to know that there are wonderful workers who love the children in DSS care and fight for what is best for them. I will forever be grateful to Dawn and for her part in my daughter’s life and mine. “
