Sharon Wegner
September 2021

CONGRATULATIONS Sharon!  It is our pleasure to recognize Sharon Wegner with Greenville County DSS!  Thank you, Sharon, for outstanding service to children and families!

Sharon has spent her career working with, providing for and mentoring young people who find themselves in foster care and know there is a better life waiting for them as they mature into adulthood. It seems everyone enjoys working with Sharon and has great respect for her.

One person had this to say, “What I know about Sharon is that she has had a few different assignments during her time at SCDSS.  No matter what area she is working in she gives her all.  She is dedicated and competent in many areas.   I know she loves working with teens that are aging out of care.  She has had the opportunity to work in this area on more than one occasion.  She does not see her caseload as a stack of brown folders.  She sees and cares deeply about every child she has.  She will travel all over the state to connect with a child that is in her care. She does her job with excellence and much compassion.”

And another, “There is no length Sharon won’t go to in order to serve the best interest of a child/youth in care.  She loves her kids and they adore her. We are all fortunate she chose to dedicate her life to this work.”

Sharon, it is our privilege and honor to celebrate you as Social Worker of the Month. Thank you for being such a blessing!
