“Letrice Smalls is a Charleston County Foster Care Case Manager. She often works closely with the Medical University of South Carolina Foster Care Support Clinic, a medical home for children in foster care. Recently, we shared a mutual patient and her child, and we had the opportunity to work closely with Letrice. We want to recognize her for her hard work with this case. Letrice has gone over and beyond the call of duty with this difficult case that involved a great deal of medical complexity and eventually grief/loss. Letrice met with the FCSC, almost weekly for some time, in order to gain updates on both children and advocate for them both. Letrice did everything that was asked of her and more – showing up at the hospital on last minute notice, getting things ordered for the children urgently, all the while being a support to the FCSC and the children.”
