Nikki Johnson
April 2020

CONGRATULATIONS Nikki! It is our pleasure to recognize Nikki Johnson, a Family Support Coordinator in Upstate Foster Family and Licensing Support. Nikki is an exemplary employee. She goes above and beyond to support her foster families. She advocates for any needs they have, and gets creative when needed to find the assistance they need. She makes herself available to her families 24/7, even when they just need a listening ear. In addition to providing this support, she always ensures her families remain in compliance, and are providing safe, nurturing care to the children in their homes. She educates her families about the placement needs of older children and siblings, and has successfully encouraged multiple families to broaden their acceptance factors to serve these children. Nikki is so consistently positive and cheerful. She is a cheerleader not only for her foster families, but her co-workers. She is a “ray of sunshine” in our program, even during times where the morale of the team has been low due to caseload/staffing issues. No matter what challenges she has faced in her workload, she expresses how much she loves her work, and it truly shows. We are so fortunate to have Nikki in our program. She fully embodies the DSS core principles of Competence, Courage and Compassion.

Congratulations, Nikki, for outstanding service to children and families!
