Lailah Abdul-Mateen
September 2018

CONGRATULATIONS Lailah! It is our pleasure to recognize Lailah Abdul-Mateen, with Berkeley County DSS. Thank you, Lailah, for outstanding service to children and families!

Lailah has been with Berkeley County DSS since October 2017. While working in the Assessment Unit, she constantly puts herself second for the safety and wellbeing of our children. When asked about the hard work and time involvement in her job, her exuberant reply is, “I LOVE IT!!” Lailah further states, “It has been such a humbling experience being able to aid children in this platform and take on such a protective role. I pride myself on Timeliness, Teamwork and Integrity. I give much thanks, supervision and guidance to my supervisors, MY SUPPORT SYSTEM, Trina Carr and Taji Billups. I am continuously being challenged to think critically for the sake of children that doesn’t have a voice.”
