Teachers, counselors, coaches, and other school staff already play a vital role in a child’s life. Through the Foster Care Community Challenge, they can go a step further by becoming licensed foster families.
Participants have the option to only foster children from their own school, preserving stability for kids who are already part of their educational environment. Staff may also choose to accept children from other schools if they wish — but there is no obligation to do so.
This thoughtful, flexible approach allows staff to support students in a meaningful way without adding pressure.
