On the Road Again is a project of the South Carolina Foster Parent Association which provides donated cars to foster care youth who are at least 18 and not yet 21 years old, actively employed, pursuing a GED or engaged in a post-high school educational program. With adequate transportation, these young people are able pursue their goals of continuing education and employment, allowing for a more successful transition into adulthood.

Autum Martin
Received Car March 2015

We would like to congratulate Autum Martin! Autum just received a Scion Xa thanks to Bethany Tisdale's amazing donation to our On the Road Again program! Autum is honor roll senior in high school and works part-time. She has been accepted to The University of South Carolina and will begin Fall of 2015. Autum is the oldest of seven siblings. Autum's foster mom, Katie Kennemore, states, "Autum has demonstrated responsibility and a drive to succeed at everything she does. I am ...excited about what the future holds for Autumn, and the opportunities that could open for her once she has her own transportation." In the photo with Autum and her foster mom, Katie, is Tracy Childers. The Childers are the foster/resource family for Autum's six siblings. Also joining in the celebration for Autum is Malik Whitaker, Continuous Quality Improvement Director, SCDSS, Spencer Wright, Autum's caseworker at Laurens County DSS and LaToya Reed, State Coordinator, Independent Living Program SCDSS. We look forward to watching Autum do amazing things with her life!
